Name check sheets: catch spelling mistakes before printing

By Jakob · Updated

Quick answerA name check sheet is a one-page proof for each team that shows every player's photo with the name and jersey number that will be printed. Coaches tick each correct name and circle mistakes. RosterFrame makes it as a US letter page (8.5 × 11", 150 dpi) with up to 25 people per page.

Why send a name check sheet?

A misspelled name on a composite means a reprint, and families notice. Checking names before printing is cheaper than fixing prints afterwards. A sheet with the photos next to the names lets the coach spot a swapped photo, a wrong number or a nickname in one look.

What's on the sheet?

Page sizeUS letter, 8.5 × 11"
Resolution150 dpi: 1275 × 1650 pixels
People per page25 (5 × 5); bigger teams get more pages
FormatJPEG, 150 dpi set in the file
File namesHawks U12 - Name check.jpg, or Hawks U12 - Name check (page 2).jpg

What does red text on the sheet mean?

Red marks something missing. "NAME MISSING" means RosterFrame couldn't read a name from the file name or roster CSV. "No number" means jersey numbers are turned on but this player has none. Fix those in the roster before you send the sheet, or let the coach fill them in.

How do I make name check sheets for every team?

  1. Import your team folders into RosterFrame. Names and numbers come from the file names or a roster CSV.
  2. For one team, click Name check sheet in that team's roster. For the whole league, open Export and tick Name check sheets.
  3. Email each coach their team's sheet, fix the names they mark, then export the final prints.

Name check sheets are never watermarked and are free like everything else during the beta. They fit right after picture day in the picture day checklist, and they work the same way for class composites with a teacher instead of a coach.
