Who builds RosterFrame?
I'm Jakob, an independent developer in Germany. I design, build and support RosterFrame myself, from the layout engine to these guides. There's no team, no investors and no sales department, so when you write in, you reach the person who wrote the code.
Why does RosterFrame exist?
Volume sports photographers often spend their evenings after picture day building composites by hand: opening one template per team, dragging every headshot into a box, typing every name and jersey number, then doing it all again for each player's memory mate. With a league of 20 teams that is many hours of copy-and-paste, and one typo means a reprint.
RosterFrame does that part for the whole league at once. You drop in one folder per team, it reads names and numbers from the file names or a roster CSV, and it exports a composite for every team and a memory mate, trading card, button or magazine cover for every player. See it in the 22-second demo.
How does it work?
- It runs in your browser. Chrome, Edge or Safari on a Mac or PC. Nothing to install and no signup.
- Your photos stay on your computer. They are read and rendered locally and never uploaded to a server.
- Print-ready files. 300 dpi JPEGs (posters and name check sheets at 150 dpi), sorted into a folder per team.
- Your choices, applied to every team. Classic, Bold or Clean styles, 8 color presets, any hex color or "Match jersey colors", with undo and job files you can reopen later.
For the full workflow, read the team composite maker guide and how to name your photos.
Is RosterFrame free?
RosterFrame launched in October 2026 as a free public beta. During the beta every feature is free and there is no signup. A paid plan will come later; what changed and when is listed on the changelog.
What it doesn't do (yet): it can't open Photoshop PSD templates, remove green screens, or sell prints online. It builds the print files; ordering and delivery stay with your lab and your usual tools.
